MY DREAMS WALK BESIDE ME

Not a whisper,
lost in the wind.

Or a shadow
forgotten in the day’s sunlight.

Brighter than the light that greets dark eyes,
sharper than any sword,
endless as the space between stars.

Do I see,
the impossible?

Thirst,
for what I cannot taste?

Teach,
what I don’t know?

And give,
what is not mine?

Do I just imagine a great lie?

Or does all possibility,
bright and dark,
flow through me?

Like fire,
that I have lived a thousand times
and will live again a thousand more.

I stumble through a dark place,
where dreams lie broken and starving upon the ground.

A graveyard,
where the bodies rest,
still dying,
while their shadows yet walk the earth.

Why do men pretend to be nothing,
even as they lay dying?

And why do shadows,
pretend to be men?

Their voices only a whisper,
their eyes dark and empty,
their hearts bitter and small.

I will walk once more,
as a man,
with air around me,
sweet as roses,
and strong as stone,

With water that takes every shape,
and lifts up a world to smile at the stars.

With dreams that will burst into life,
moment after moment.

My dreams are not outside me,
alien,
distant,
or thin like paper.

We are one.
We are here.
I am not alone.

Listening to silence, as I walk through the day.

I Face Each Day With Love

Listening to silence,
as I walk through the day.

Emotions fall upon endless faces,
and words surround them like a cloud.

Like a butterfly,
my heart lands,
shares a feeling,
for a moment,
and then,
flies deep,
into darkness,
discovering,
an unending inner world,
with love.

Love is hiding.
Fears and habits,
and tired little dreams,
drag me down,
a hundred ways,
whispering:
love is away.
Be dull,
and spin in circles,
a machine.

Real questions call, unanswered.
Where Should I go?
What’s really important?
Who am I?

It seems so easy,
to get lost in darkness,
without love.

Love,
raises me up,
calls me back,
from emptiness.

Trying,
so hard.

Maybe,
it’s the trying that makes life hard.

Trying is lonely.
Trying is empty.
Trying comes from the little one,
who lives life as a shadow.

Take a breath.
Walk into that fearful darkness.

Open your eyes past the darkness.
See each towering, burning life.

Here there is no trying.
This fire burns and heals.
The trying is not real,
Only the fire.

Love is a visitor,
going somewhere,
beyond,
the obvious,
the seductive,
the ugly,
and the empty.

What will happen,
to me,
when I fill myself,
with love,
when love stays?

Will I be lost,
in an endless storm,
never knowing myself?

The little me,
afraid of love,
escapes.

Like sweet music,
the awesome me arrives,
his strong footsteps,
fill the inner emptiness,
with power,
and light that cannot be darkened.

Shining,
finding light in others,
seen or hidden, cloudy or clear.

Does the sun ask,
How will I be today?
Passionate?
Powerful?
Will I gaze,
and set fire,
to worlds and hearts?

Does the sun spin endlessly,
waiting for guidance,
listening for a voice that says:
Move,
Go?

Burn your weakness,
with life’s growing fire.
Let your thoughts declare,
and your heart announce,
life is passionate.

That burning life,
which will not be ended,
not be broken,
not be sold,
is love.

I am an endless river of living fire.

Not straight or bent,
long or short.

Before I found a shape,
became a man,
I was a river,
swimming upon
a sea of energy.

Shape is temporary,
and weak.

Shape seeks and seems,
to bind and turn,
and stop and hide,
all fire, all life.

Life remembers,
awakens,
and runs.
The barriers vanish
like dust.

I am an endless river of living fire.

We count,
ten or a thousand,
weights, chains, doors, and locks.

Each one calls for endless learning,
and trying.
Now open,
now closed.

We try,
and turn our eyes,
to find ourselves
until we see,
there are no eyes, only energy,
running, falling, bursting,
here and high.

I am an endless river of living fire.

I have a name,
not a hard name of possibilities lost,
but a fiery name that opens, accelerates,and transforms
everything in its past,
and everything in its path.

I am an endless river of living fire.

The river moves too fast to follow.
Be the river.
Dream and dance and run away with life.

The energy flows,
without fear, without sadness, without regret.

I thought I was a drop, a cup,
just water to feed the thirsty.
But I am a traveler,
swimming in energy,
flying through time.
